Lisa Kennedy - The Traveling Doula
Supporting Northern RI Families

Hi, I'm
Lisa Kennedy

"Every person deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported on the most transformative day of their life."

I’m a Certified Doula based in Smithfield, Rhode Island, and I’m here to walk alongside you during one of the most profound journeys of your life. I proudly serve mothers and families across Northern Rhode Island’s rural communities, bringing personalized support right to your door.

My path to Doula work is rooted in over 20 years of hands-on experience in health, wellness, and community care right here in Rhode Island. As a Health Equity Zone Director at Tri-County Community Action Agency, I’ve spent years connecting families in our communities to the resources, support, and compassion they deserve — important work that has only deepened my commitment to showing up for people during life’s most meaningful moments.

Before that, I spent more than a decade with the YMCA in progressive leadership roles — directing youth and family programs, overseeing early childhood development programs, managing childcare operations across multiple sites, and building the kind of trusting relationships that make real support possible. That community-first mindset is at the heart of everything I do as a doula.

I’m also a Rhode Island Certified Community Health Worker, and I bring that whole-person, equity-centered lens to my work. I believe every expecting mother and family deserves a calm, informed, and encouraging presence by their side — and that’s exactly the experience I’m committed to providing.

I travel to you — because your comfort matters, and birth doesn’t wait. Whether you’re a first-time mom or growing your family, I’d be honored to be part of your story.
